Areas of focus
Quality Education
Keeping rural children in school and learning well.

Machika Foundation is focused on improving the learning of children in Uganda.
Nearly 50% of children in Uganda do not complete primary school, largely because high levels of poverty make it harder for parents and guardians to provide scholastic materials and the other support children need to stay in school. Rural areas also contend with poor school infrastructure, which translates directly into poor performance. Our education work targets both the household and the classroom.
What we do
- Provision of scholastic materials to keep children in school
- Sponsorships for children to attain education and training
- Provision of school infrastructure
- Supplying schools with simplified materials and equipment to aid learning
